SMRT Rebrand
Working with an agency partner, Kristen co-led the complete re-brand of Maine's largest Architecture / Engineering firm in 2019. She designed and authored the visual identity brand book, including a robust, sector-specific messaging component, full suite of collateral materials and templates in InDesign and Office, and led content population of the new data-rich, video enabled website.

Client Connection Presentation
Presentation to the Society for Marketing Professional Services, NNE Chapter - March 2022
In a sea of qualified firms, how do you make a client feel like your team understands them the best? How do you create a connection with limited review time? What if there was a process that could strengthen your messaging and make writing easier at the same time?
Our guest speaker, Kristen Peters, outlines a simple workflow to help your content stand out from the crowd. Passive listening techniques, a rigorous Issues, Features, Benefits and Proof (IFBP) writing process, and a dash of creative thinking are the key.
Motion Graphics Video
When tradeshows and conferences became remote at the start of the pandemic, SMRT needed a way to engage potential clients beyond the standard digital landing page.
With a tight timeline of three days, Kristen wrote, designed and created this motion graphics video for SMRT's Science / Technology / Manufacturing services. Key messages were developed from the most common client-specific needs in this sector.
Targeted Collateral
Kristen established a multi-touch approach to business development, with tools tailored to support each stage of the client relationship pipeline. The first stage of outreach included simple, impactful bifold brochures on market segments and service lines.
Using a graphic design technique called "design for the scanning reader," the messaging and layout are structured to entice the reader into interacting more deeply with the content.
Blog Copywriting
After the launch of SMRT's new website in late 2019, Kristen started a blog writing program. The foundational goals of the program were to show technical professionals that content writing can be fun, relatively easy, and also leave them feeling supported while meeting publication deadlines. Kristen incorporated coaching techniques such as verbal interviews, outline preparation, small charettes to craft infographic or design concept assets, and ghost writing as appropriate. Kristen ghost authored the attached blog post to celebrate the design goals of SMRT's new historic office space.
IIDA Fashion Show 2019
The New England IIDA Fashion Show features couture garments constructed out of unique and upcycled materials commonly found in the built-environments where we live, work, and play. In 2019, a small group of SMRTers decided to enter the fray as the only Maine-based firm represented on the runway. SMRT was assigned The Hunger Games as their theme. Kristen was instrumental in the design direction and creation of garments- including the construction of a skirt comprised of 200+ foil laminated bamboo strips sewn onto a construction underlayment base and a custom patterned steel-boned corset. Kristen also designed the inspiration board, edited the music, and directed the models in an exciting reveal of an 8' retractable wing apparatus.
